Success of Junior Fellows in Krakow and Warsaw!

Congratulations to iEBA-WG junior fellows Bendik Skinningsrud and Dominik Taterra for their successes in the International Medical Student’s Conferences in Warsaw and Krakow! 

Dominik Taterra and his co-authors B. Sanna, P. Pękala, A. Marcinów, J. Pękala, and Drs. Henry and Tomaszewski, were awarded 2nd place in the Surgery session during the 13 th Warsaw International Medical Congress for Young Scientists in Warsaw, Poland, and 3rd place in the Surgery session during the 25 th International Medical Student’s Conference in Cracow, Poland.

Bendik Skinningsrud and his co-authors WC Hsieh, B. Sanna, P. Pękala, J. Pękala, and Drs. Henry and Tomaszewski, were awarded 1 st place in the Cardiology session and participated in the Plenary Session during the 13th Warsaw International Medical Congress for Young Scientists in Warsaw, Poland, and 1 st place in the Cardiosurgery and Invasive Cardiology session during the 25 th International Medical Student’s Conference in Cracow, Poland, for their oral presentation entitled "Endovascular vs Open Repair in Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms in Young Patients: A Meta-analysis”. Additionally, Bendik Skinningsrud and his co-authors M. Zarychta, D. Paradowska, E. Kucharska, IM. Tomaszewski, J. Golec, P. Skotnicki, and Drs. Henry and Tomaszewski, were awarded 2nd place ex aequo in the Hematology and Oncology session during the 13th Warsaw International Medical Congress for Young Scientists in Warsaw, Poland, and 2nd place in the Hematology and Oncology session during the 25th International Medical Student’s Conference in Cracow, Poland, for their oral presentation entitled “Factors influencing health-related quality-of- life in Polish colorectal cancer patients without liver metastases”.

Lastly, a very special congragulations to Wan Chin Hsieh of the First Faculty of Medicine, Charles University, Prague who develeoped the "Endovascular vs Open Repair in Abdominal Aortic Aneurysms in Young Patients: A Meta-analysis” project which one first place in cardio sessions both in Krakow and Warsaw. Ms. Hsieh just finished a conference tour which took her to New York (American Association for Thoracic Surgery Mitral Conclave), Washington, D.C. (American Thoracic Society 2017 International Conference), and Greece (66th International Congress of the European Sociey for Cardiovascular and Endovascular Surgery). At the ESCVS in Greece, Ms. Hsieh presented 9 abstracts! Keep on rocking!
